Altesino’s property, located in Montalcino, covers an area of approximately 80 hectares. The specialized vineyards measure 42.5 hectares, divided into the 5 “Crus” of Altesino: Macina, Castelnuovo dell’Abate, Pianezzine, and Montosoli, a vineyard particularly well known for its production of extremely elegant wines. The majority of grapes grown on this land are of the Sangiovese di Montalcino variety, the only variety used in the production of Brunello di Montalcino, as well as Rosso di Montalcino and Palazzo Altesi. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are blended with Sangiovese to produce Alte d’Altesi and Rosso di Altesino. Trebbiano and Malvasia go into Vin Santo, while Vermentino, Chardonnay and Viognier are used to make Bianco di Altesino.
