Distilled vine pomace aged in barriques for about one year. This is a so-called meditation grappa, with a distinctive character made even more complex by having the grappa rest in small oak barrels. These not only give the grappa an intense amber colour with streaks of mahogany but give the distilled liquor a surprisingly elegant and complex bouquet with sensations of vanilla, spices and dried fruit. It definitely results in a very warm and involving drink, with a very well-defined personality.
