Altesino began to produce its Rosso for everyday consumption in 1989. The idea has since been adopted by many other estates in the area.
The wine is a blend of Sangiovese di Montalcino grapes with 20% Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The wine is put on the market about 10 months after the harvest.
It is ruby red in colour, with a fresh, fragrant, enchanting bouquet and a dry, flavourful, pure taste. It is an inviting and undemanding drink.
